Ken Butcher: baritone sax

Ken Butcher is a founder member, along with Gerry Hunt, of the MSQ. He also plays soprano, alto and tenor saxes, clarinet, bass clarinet and flute. He plays baritone sax with the Hot Orange Big Band and the Morley Jazz Orchestra, and bass clarinet with the Fulham Symphony Orchestra and Southwark Clarinet Consort. Ken somehow also finds the time to perform regularly with rock, soul and reggae bands, chamber music groups and theatre orchestras.
Erica Clarke: alto sax

Erica Clarke trained at Southampton University with jazz saxophonist, Dave Bitelli, gaining a BA (Hons) Music. Primarily a saxophonist, Erica also plays a diverse range of instruments including flute and clarinet. Since moving to London in 2004, Erica has played in a variety of ensembles including the London Jazz Collective, Hot Orange Big Band, The Bridge funk band, Underdog Ensemble, Big Band Metheny and is the most recent member of the Medusa Saxophone Quartet. Her music has taken her across Europe, including performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival. When not performing, she teaches saxophone and clarinet, and is Musical Director of the Tormead School Jazz Band.
Colin Crawley: tenor sax

Colin Crawley has more than 17 years experience as professional musician, teacher and lecturer. He plays alto, tenor and soprano saxes and flute and has performed and recorded with, amongst others, the BBC Radio Big Band, The High Llamas, Stereolab, Doves, The London Jazz Orchestra, EPJ, Forty Feet Forward, The Nigel Waddington Jazz Orchestra, Mick Collins Big Band, Hot Orange and the Medusa Saxophone Quartet, along with various groups under his own name. Gerry Hunt: soprano and alto saxes

Gerry Hunt is a multi-instrumentalist who plays various members of the string, wind and percussion families, and makes noises on a few others. He has been a professional musician and teacher for over 25 years, and has gained experience in many areas of musical performance and education. As a composer, he has written for the National Theatre and several community theatre projects. Along with Ken Butcher, he is a founder member of the Medusa Sax Quartet and is a current member of The Grand Union Orchestra. Gerry has also played with many other bands such as Loose Tubes, Roberto Pla Ensemble and King Salsa.
